A Monthly Visit

In consideration of limited activities, but fully aware minds that are trapped within. Communication may be next to nothing if one is not “in tune” with them. But they know…

And now as we begin;

Lord, be with us, comfort us.
Lord give us Your Presence, with Your Peace and Love,
That we may endure and understand,
What it is for each of us, how we may Love.

Amen.

Happy Easter! We have fifty days of Easter. This is the third Sunday of Easter. We celebrate His Resurrection! However, every day is Easter! Our resurrected Christ is with us every day!

The near-ness of Jesus. Last week we heard of Jesus appearing in a locked room with the disciples. He didn’t need a door to be opened. He just appeared on two different occasions and showed them His wounds. He ate food in their presence.

Here we have Jesus appearing to two disciples, Cleopas and his friend, walking on the road to Emmaus. It has just been a traumatic time. They were discussing what had happened. They were sad. They saw what they hoped was the redeemer of Israel, who was, instead, nailed to a cross and crucified.

They heard of some women claiming He was not at the tomb. Angels said He was alive! They had to be experiencing some wonder along with a sense of loss.

Perhaps it was a like a mother who took her son to the beach. He was laughing and splashing until he wasn’t. – – He couldn’t see her. – – He scanned the beach, back and forth and couldn’t find his mother. However, he wasn’t lost. She had never stopped watching him.

Of course she called to him and immediately went to him when he displayed his anxiety. She was right there to share her love and comfort him.

It was a dark time, a gap in time for him. A dark space. It was a wondering and fearful moment.

Those two men, disciples, walking to Emmaus, they were not alone. Jesus was right there wit them. Jesus was explaining what the prophets had declared and how it was necessary that the Messiah should suffer these things, and then enter into His glory.

Jesus was right there with them and He is right here with us, right now!

We have dark spaces. It is a time between comfort and question, faith and fear, uncertainty, urgency…

It is the Lord who stands with us in our dark spaces and He comforts us.
We are not lost. He is watching us.

As we thank the Lord for the rough experiences in our lives, we receive new understanding that leads us forward. Our new understanding can give us a new perspective in how we live our lives.

The Lord is here to carry us. Our Lord is always watching and waiting on us.

He is the Light. As we receive His Light, so we also give His Light to others. Giving His Light to others can be any and all forms of sharing what ever we are able to do and to give – a smile, a greeting, and a God Bless you.

Remember the boy at the beach. He thought he was lost. He wasn’t lost as loving eyes were on him. He stopped watching, but his mother never stopped watching him. Just as the Lord never stops watching us with His loving eyes. We are His. We belong to the Lord Jesus.

Let us pray.

Jesus, we give our hearts to you so that our love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that we may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – – to the glory and praise of God. Amen.
